Herndon Aquatic Club 2012-2013

Thank you for your interest in registering for the 2012-2013 season. Our web site should provide you with most of the information you need. If you click on the tab “Swim Groups” near the top of the page you will find brief descriptions of all of the training groups we offer. There is also a link to a more detailed document which provides more details, practice schedules, and cost. If you hover on “Swim Groups” a drop-down menu will appear that provides links to mandatory equipment lists, and the availability of each of the training groups.

New to Commanders: Hopefully your swimmers are participating on a summer swim team. This is a highly recommended step before committing to a competitive year-round swim program like Herndon Aquatic Club for all of our groups.

Please review the group descriptions. You will find an explanation of the intentions of the training, requirements to qualify for the group, and age guidelines for each group.

Plan to attend a Stroke Evaluation session. Everyone must be evaluated before being placed on the team. We will hold sessions on the Tuesdays in July, from 4-6PM. It’s first-come, first-served, no appointments or reservations. We will also be coming to several pools close to Herndon Community Center to conduct evaluations. Please take advantage of this opportunity if you can. Swimmers will be required to demonstrate the ability to complete the minimum requirements for the group that they desire. If a swimmer fails to meet the minimum requirements, the coach conducting the evaluation will suggest alternatives. Stroke evaluations are now by appointment only. Please contact Emily Menard at emily.felker@swimhacc.org to arrange an appointment.

Swimmers who meet, or exceed, the minimum requirements will be given all of the necessary forms, and instructions on how to finish the registration process.

Returning Commanders: Please log into your account and click on the tab “Registration Info”. On this page you will find everything you need to register. Please note that there are several changes for the upcoming season.
